SHREWSBURY — The teen-aged boy who died last night after falling from a ski lift at the SkiWard Ski Area, has been identified as John Street, 18, of 5 Kensington Lane in Upton, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
The preliminary investigation shows Mr. Street was training with teammates from the Nipmuc Regional High School ski team when he may have suffered a seizure while riding up the hill on a ski lift. Mr. Street fell from the lift and landed face down on the icy ground below. Police received a 911 call at 6:43 p.m.
Mr. Street was transported to the
University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester where he was pronounced dead at 7:24 p.m.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death. The State Police Detectives assigned to Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and Shrewsbury Police are continuing to investigate.
