Off-Duty Trooper Killed in Crash on Route 122 in Grafton

GRAFTON – Last night, off-duty Massachusetts State Police Trooper Jacob Mick, 31, was killed following a motor vehicle crash involving the motorcycle he was operating and a passenger vehicle on Route 122 in Grafton.

The preliminary investigation suggests that at approximately 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 28, Trooper Mick was operating a motorcycle on Providence Road when it was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle.

Trooper Mick was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the passenger vehicle was transported to UMass Lakeside and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

We extend our deepest condolences to Trooper Mick’s family, friends, and colleagues and ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.

The crash remains under investigation by the Grafton Police Department, the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC), Mass. State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
