WORCESTER – Officer Sean Lovely, a 25-year veteran of the Worcester Police Department, demonstrates what it means to be dedicated to improving the lives of people in Worcester.
“Besides his work as a police officer, Sean is active in the community in a wide variety of ways,” said Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. “It seems every time I turn around at community events I run into Sean. He’s the perfect choice to receive the second TEAM Award.”
The TEAM (Team Excellence and Merit) Award is presented monthly to law enforcement personnel and first responders who show great courage and embrace a team concept.
When Lovely is not working as a police officer, he is volunteering at the St. John’s Food for the Poor program. He is a board member at the Oak Hill Community Development Corporation and the Korean War Memorial. He works with the Oak Hill CDC to put together a fun and safe Halloween event, HILL-O-WEEN, for children in the Providence Street neighborhood.
Lovely served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division during Desert Shield and Desert Storm operations. Since then he has been dedicated to helping veterans and organizing ceremonies of remembrance.
