WORCESTER — A 25-year-old Worcester man has been indicted for murder in a fatal shooting on July 5 following a confrontation in front of the victim’s home, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
A Worcester County grand jury handed up the indictments last week, charging Leroy L. Thompson Jr. of 26 Almont Ave., Apt.2, with murder, reckless endangerment, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
The indictments move the case to Worcester Superior Court where Mr. Thompson will be arraigned.
Joshua Lopez, 24, of 14 Claremont St., Worcester, died on July 6 after being shot the day before while sitting in the backseat of a vehicle.
Mr. Thompson and occupants of that vehicle had argued over the payment of a restaurant bill before the shooting.
