WORCESTER – A Worcester County Grand Jury handed up a murder indictment last week against a man for stabbing a woman to death inside their Worcester apartment in February, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.

Sadrac Metellus, 29, is accused of stabbing Vesline Garnier, 24, to death on Feb. 14.

Worcester Police responded to the couple’s apartment on 6 Douglas St. just after 5 p.m. to find Garnier suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Metellus was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was held without bail following his arraignment in Worcester Central District Court on Feb. 15 on a murder charge.

The indictment moves the case against Metellus to Worcester Superior Court where he is expected to be arraigned on May 14.
