WORCESTER — A 25-year-old Worcester man is being charged with murder in a fatal shooting early Sunday morning following a confrontation in front of the man’s home, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Joshua Lopez, 24, of 14 Claremont St., Worcester, died Monday afternoon at a local hospital after being shot the day before while sitting in the backseat of a vehicle.

Mr. Thompson was arraigned Monday on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license and improper storage of a firearm. He is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Friday.
