WORCESTER – Last week, a Worcester County Grand Jury handed up indictments for manslaughter and other charges against 28-year-old Aphrodite Papoutsides, of Charlton, for a September 2024 fatal crash in Charlton that resulted in the death of a Worcester woman, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.
On November 14, 2025, Ms. Papoutsides was indicted on one count of involuntary manslaughter, one count of manslaughter while operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, one count of motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, one count of motor vehicle homicide while under the influence, one count of motor vehicle homicide, three counts of operating under the influence causing serious bodily injury, one count of operating under the influence, and one count of reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
The charges stem from a September 21, 2024, crash where a Mercedes, driven by Ms. Papoutsides, had collided with a Honda on Southbridge Road (Route 169) in the area of Carpenter Hill Road in Charlton.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Honda, 51-year-old Leah S. Forrester, was killed. Three other passengers in the Honda were also seriously injured.
Ms. Papoutsides was initially arraigned on charges of motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation on September 23, 2024, in Dudley District Court. The indictment moves the case to Worcester Superior Court, where she is expected to be arraigned on a later date.
