SPENCER — A 48-year-old Spencer woman died of an apparent drowning yesterday after swimming in Stiles Reservoir with her husband and friends, according to District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Spencer Police and Fire responded to a 911 call about 4:20 p.m. yesterday, and took over from a neighbor who was performing CPR on the woman. The woman was transported to St. Vincent Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 5:53 p.m.
The name of the deceased is being withheld until all family members are notified.
The apparent drowning is being investigated by the State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Spencer Police.
