WEBSTER — A Harris Street woman died and her boyfriend faces assault charges after a violent domestic dispute this morning, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Brenda L. Hatheway, 43, of 8 Harris St., Apt. 2R, was found unresponsive in the street near her home. She was transported to Hubbard Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead at about 9:30 a.m. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has accepted the case and will determine the cause and manner of death.
Joseph Kenadek, 51, of the same address, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery, and domestic assault and battery. He is being held on $500,000 bail and will be arraigned tomorrow in Dudley District Court.
The preliminary investigation showed that Ms. Hatheway and Mr. Kenadek were involved in a loud argument in their apartment that spilled out onto a second floor porch and eventually into the street. At some point the argument turned physical. First responders, responding to a 911 call at 8:47 a.m. found Ms. Hatheway unresponsive in the street and Mr. Kenadek nearby.
State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and Webster Police are continuing to investigate.
