FITCHBURG – Two people were killed and a third person remains hospitalized after a fire ripped through a home at 53 East St. last night, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Lisa Englehart, 39, and Christopher Brinkley, 22, were pronounced dead at Leominster Hospital. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner accepted the case and will determine the cause and manner of death for each victim.
Frank Huckins Sr., 65, was transported to the Leominster Hospital where was listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
Six other residents of the home escaped and were uninjured.
The fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office, Worcester District Attorney’s Office and the Fitchburg Police and Fire departments.
