Three Indicted for Murder in Clinton Stabbing Death

 WORCESTER — Three Clinton men were indicted today on murder and other charges in the April 15 stabbing death of a man outside a Clinton bar, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

A grand jury handed up indictments charging Oscar O. Rodriguez, 23, of 36 Park St.; Martin A. Fregoso, 28, of 709 Main St.; and Christopher Rolon, 23, of 42 Lakeside Ave, building 7, with murder and two counts of aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Mr. Rodriguez is also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

The defendants will be arraigned on July 12 in Worcester Superior Court. They had previously been charged in Clinton District Court with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and have been held on $100,000 cash bail.

Vincent Garreffi, 24, of Clinton, was stabbed after 11 p.m. on April 15 in the parking lot of Scooby Doo’s, 675 Main St. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward at Clinton Hospital. Two other men were seriously injured in the attack. A fourth man suffered a less serious injury.

The stabbings remain under investigation by the State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Clinton Police.

Assistant District Attorneys Michael D. McHugh, Mark McShera and Nathaniel Beaudoin are prosecuting the case.
