The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court today upheld the first-degree murder

conviction of Alex Scesny, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

A Worcester Superior Court jury found Mr. Scesny guilty on March 29, 2012 of the 1996

strangulation death of Teresa Stone in Fitchburg. The SJC found that there was sufficient

evidence to support the murder conviction, but that the evidence was insufficient to support the

jury’s guilty verdict on a charge of aggravated rape.
