WORCESTER – A Worcester County Grand Jury handed up a murder indictment against 23-year-old Jose Pacheco in the 2021 killing of a 19-year-old Worcester man, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.
Pacheco, of Worcester, was indicted on June 16, 2025, on one count of murder in the death of Franklin Mane, 19, of Worcester.
On May 12, 2021, Leominster Police Officers responded to the area of 46 Industrial Road for a report of a body. Investigators located the body in an overgrown area at the edge of the parking lot and were able to later identify the body as Mane.
The Office of the State Medical Examiner determined that Mane died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.
Pacheco was initially arraigned on a murder charge in Leominster District Court and held without bail on April 11, 2025.
In May 2023, a murder charge was also brought against Wilbert I. Nieves, 25, of Fitchburg. His case is ongoing.
The indictment moves the case to Worcester Superior Court, where Pacheco is expected to be arraigned on June 27, 2025.
