WESTMINSTER – Police continue to seek more information about a third car involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon that left a woman dead and her 9-yer-old hospitalized, according to Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Elisabeth M. Estrada-Turner, 27, of 27 Meadow Brook Lane, Gardner died in the crash shortly at Route 140 and Betty Spring Road. Her 9-year-old daughter, a passenger in the car, was transported to University of Massachusetts-Memorial Hospital in Worcester where she remains. Her family reports that hr condition continues to improve.
A witness at the scene observed a small passenger vehicle enter traffic from the east side of Route 140 from Betty Spring Road. The vehicle crossed the southbound lanes of traffic and immediately entered the deceased’s lane of travel. Following this the deceased’s vehicle appears to have steered to avoid impact but lost control. Anyone with information about that car and/or its driver is asked to call the Westminster Police at 978-874-2933.
Ms. Estrada-Turner’s 2004 Honda Accord collided head-on with a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Frank Rosa of Jamestown, R.I. Rosa and his 18-year-old son Ryan were treated and released from Heywood Hospital in Gardner.
The crash remains under investigation by the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and the Westminster Police Department.
