Murder Warrant Issued for Aaron Pennington as Search Continues

GARDNER – A murder warrant was issued for Aaron Pennington Wednesday in the death of his wife Breanne Pennington, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.

Authorities are continuing the search for Pennington that began Sunday after his wife, 30-year-old Breanne Pennington, was found fatally shot inside their 42 Cherry St. home. Gardner Police were called to the scene after the couple’s four children left the home and went to a neighbor’s house. When police arrived, they found Breanne deceased.

It was determined that Aaron Pennington had left around 9 a.m. in his white 2013 BMW Model 320 and a search for Pennington began.

On Monday evening, a hunter spotted Pennington’s vehicle about 1,500 feet down a wooded trail off Kenton Street near Camp Collier in Gardner.

Police assets began searching the wooded area for Pennington, including Gardner Police, Ashburnham Police, the State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), State Police Tactical Operations (STOP), Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS), State Police Air Wing, State Police K-9, State Police Troop C headquarters, State Police Athol, and the State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.

The murder charge was filed in Gardner District Court.

The investigation into the homicide and Pennington’s whereabouts remains ongoing by Gardner Police, the State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, and Massachusetts State Police.
