Mother, boyfriend indicted in missing boy case

WORCESTER – Elsa Oliver and Alberto Sierra were indicted by a Worcester County Grand Jury today on charges related to a missing 5-year-old Fitchburg boy, according to District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Ms. Oliver, 28, of 276 Kimball St., Fitchburg, is the mother of Jeremiah Oliver who was last seen in September. She is being charged with permitting bodily injury to a child, three counts of reckless endangerment of a child, kidnapping a child, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and three counts of assault and battery.

Mr. Sierra, 23, of 164 Meadowbrook Lane, Fitchburg is Ms. Oliver’s boyfriend. He was indicted on the following charges: indecent assault and battery on a child, permitting bodily injury to a child, three counts of reckless endangerment of a child, kidnapping a child, assault and battery on a child causing bodily injury, four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of assault and battery.

The District Attorney’s Office was notified of Jeremiah’s disappearance on Dec. 13, and the case is being investigated as a homicide.

The indictments move the cases from Fitchburg District Court to Worcester Superior Court.

Ms. Oliver is being held on $100,000 cash bail after being charged in Fitchburg with two counts of reckless endangerment of a child and two counts of accessory after the fact of a felony (assault and battery with a dangerous weapon).

Mr. Sierra is being held without bail after being charged in Fitchburg with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife) and two counts of assault and battery on a child causing bodily injury.

The disappearance is being investigated by State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Fitchburg Police.
