STURBRIDGE – The body of a Fiskdale man, reported missing by his family this morning, was recovered this afternoon from Big Alum Lake, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
The body pulled from lake about 40 to 45 feet from shore was identified as Paul A. Lamarine, 73, of 26 Mt.-Dan Road, in the Fiskdale section of Sturbridge. Mr. Lamarine lived on the lake. He had been reported missing by his family at 8:30 a.m. and the body was found at 4:10 p.m.
The death does not appear suspicious at this time. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has accepted the case and will determine the cause and manner of death.
Sturbridge Police were assisted in the search by the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, which supplied patrol dogs and bloodhounds along with dive teams from Charlton, Dudley Oxford, Southbridge, Sturbridge, Webster and Auburn.
State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and Sturbridge Police are continuing to investigate.
