NORTH BROOKFIELD — Thomas Woods, a 21-month-old child who had been missing since yesterday afternoon, was found safe and healthy tonight and was being reunited with his mother, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
The boy’s father, Ryan Woods, 30, of 1 Bigelow St., North Brookfield, brought the child to Milford (Conn.) Hosptial to turn over custody. He was arrested there by Milford Police on fugitive from justice charges.
Ryan Woods, who took off with his son during a regular visitation yesterday afternoon, will be brought back to Massachusetts where he will be charged with reckless endangerment of a child and larceny of a motor vehicle.
“It’s great when a situation like this has a happy ending,” Mr. Early said, praising the work of the State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, North Brookfield Police, the FBI and Milford (Conn.) Police.
The child was found safe about the same time State Police issued an AMBER Alert, seeking the public’s help in finding the boy.
