WEST BROOKFIELD — The body of a man was pulled from the Quaboag River on Saturday near the bridge on Long Hill Road, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Kevin A. Dion, 54, of 72 Long Hill Road, had packed a lunch and gone fishing Saturdaymorning. He often fished in the river on the north bank near the bridge. Saturday afternoon friends began searching for Mr. Dion because he was not answering his cell phone. They found his folding chair and other belongings on the river bank.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m. several people in a small boat spotted the victim in the water. The West Brookfield Police retrieved the body. The death does not appear to be suspicious.
State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and West Brookfield Police are investigating.
