LUNENBURG – A Worcester County Grand Jury handed up a murder indictment last week against a man for stabbing a woman to death inside their Lunenburg home last December, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.

Orlando Garcia Rosado, 57, is accused in the fatal stabbing of Maria Murray, 53, on December 26, 2023.

Lunenburg Police responded to the couple’s home on 1790 Massachusetts Ave. just after 8:45 p.m. to find Murray suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to Leominster Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Rosado was arrested and charged with murder and assault and battery on a family/household member. He was held without bail following his arraignment in Fitchburg District Court on December 27.

The indictment moves the case against Rosado to Worcester Superior Court where he will be arraigned on a future date to be determined.
