WORCESTER – A Worcester County grand jury handed up secret indictments today charging Alexandra Chadwick, the girlfriend of Randall Lints, with the abuse and reckless neglect of Lints’ 7-year-old son, which resulted in grave injury to the child, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
The indictments were unsealed today after Ms. Chadwick was arrested in Ware this afternoon.
Ms. Chadwick, 22, of 16 Bridge St. Apt.2, Hardwick faces the same charges as Mr. Lints: two counts of assault and battery on a child causing substantial bodily injury, two counts of permitting substantial bodily injury to a child, and one count of reckless endangerment of a child.
It is anticipated that she will be arraigned Monday in Worcester Superior Court.
The injuries are alleged to have occurred between June 30, 2014 when the boy lived in the home shared by Mr. Lints and Ms. Chadwick, and July 14, when police were called to that home and discovered the unresponsive child.
The boy was taken to Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, then Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He is now being treated in a long-term care facility.
Mr. Lints was arrested on July 21 and is being held on $200,000 cash bail. With the indictments, the case will be moved to Worcester Superior Court where he will be arraigned at a future date.
The case remains under investigation by the State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Hardwick Police.
