FITCHBURG – A 36-year-old man was arraigned in Fitchburg District Court today on charges related to the stabbing of 45-year-old Jesus Maisonet Davila in Fitchburg last week according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Jeremy A. Cruz, of Leominster, was arraigned on Monday on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and armed assault to murder.
Massachusetts District Court Judge Christopher LoConto ordered Cruz held on $50,000 bail on the assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury charge and held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for July 10th on the armed assault to murder charge.
Cruz is accused of stabbing Davila, of Fitchburg, shortly before 2 p.m. on July 1 in the area of 199 Main St. in the City of Fitchburg.
Davila was transported by EMS and remains hospitalized.
Detectives from the Fitchburg Police Department and State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office continue to investigate.
