WORCESTER – Jonathan Lind, who was convicted of perjury for lying to the grand jury during the investigation into the death of Brandon Chicklis, was sentenced to serve 7 to 9 years in State Prison, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Lind, 29, was sentenced on Friday in Worcester Superior Court by Judge Daniel Wrenn on the single count of perjury. He had been convicted by a jury following a three-day trial in December. Lind is set to serve his sentence at Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center.
Lind was arrested on Dec. 10, 2021, on several charges relating to the 2018 murder of Chicklis. In November 2021, Julia Enright was found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Chicklis, who had last been seen by his family on June 23, 2018, and whose body was discovered weeks later on the side of Route 119 in Rindge, N.H.
On the perjury charge, Lind was accused of lying to the grand jury in testimony he gave in October of 2018 regarding his and Enright’s whereabouts on June 23 and the following day.
Lind is facing two additional counts in this case, accessory after the fact and disinterment of a body. He is due back in court on March 13 on those charges.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Shayna Woodard and Tim Westerman, and Victim Witness Advocate Margaret Rwaramba assisted Chicklis’ family through the court process.
District Attorney Early wanted to thank and is very appreciative of the many law enforcement agencies who worked diligently together on the case, including the Ashburnham and Westminster Police, State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, State Police in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, Rindge Police, State Police Crime Scene Services, the State Police Dive Team, the State Police Special Emergency Response Team, State Police civilian forensic scientists, the New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office and the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.
