WORCESTER – Two men were arrested today on Gage Street and charged with trafficking in heroin and conspiracy, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Frank Soto, 46, and Francisco Burgos, 42, both of 87 Gage St., Apt. 1, were charged with trafficking Class A substance, heroin (18-36 grams); and conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws. Both defendants are scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow in Worcester Central District Court.

State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and the State Police Gang Unit had been investigating the suspects for a month. During the investigation it was determined that heroin was being distributed from 87 Gage St., Apt. 1 and from a white 2-car garage at Eastern Avenue and Elliot Street. Search warrants were obtained for both locations.

State Police Detectives, State Police Gang Unit, State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Unit, State Police K9 Unit, Worcester Police K9 Unit, State Police Community Action Team, and Worcester Police Vice Squad executed the search warrants at 9:45 a.m. today.

About 80 knotted corner baggies found during the search of the garage. Each baggie contained a tan powder substance that later field tested positive for the presence of heroin. The search of the apartment turned up $3,308 and a digital scale.
