FITCHBURG – Human remains were found today by a worker clearing brush on the bank of Baker’s Brook near the intersection of Lunenburg Road and John Fitch Highway, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Fitchburg Police were called at 11:18 a.m. to report the find.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has accepted the case. The remains will be further examined in an attempt at identification.
The State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and Fitchburg Police are continuing to investigate. State Police Crime Scene Services, State Police K-9 and the Medical Examiner’s Office assisted investigators at the scene.
