FITCHBURG — Wanda Liz Gonzalez was ordered held without bail after being arraigned on a murder charge this morning in last week’s stabbing death of a 34-year-old mother of three, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Jennifer Narvaez-Colon was found in the street outside her home at 35 Wanoosnoc Road after Fitchburg Police responded to 911 calls at 10:17 p.m. on Nov. 6. She was pronounced dead at UMass Memorial – University Campus in Worcester early the following morning.
Ms. Gonzalez, 33, also of 35 Wanoosnoc Road, was originally charged with domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Police found Ms. Gonzalez in a bedroom bleeding from wounds to her head and neck.
The murder charge was added today after the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the death a homicide.
Judge Mark Goldstein continued the case to Nov. 28 for a pretrial conference.
The homicide remains under investigation by the State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Fitchburg Police.
