Gardner Victim Murdered; Investigation Continues

GARDNER — A Hubbardston man, found dead early Thursday morning on Waterford Street, was stabbed to death during an apparent drug transaction, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Christopher Starkweather, also known as C.J. Anderson, 23, of 150 Old Westminster Road, Hubbardston was found dead in front of 244 Waterford St. A second man, also a stabbing victim, was transported to an area hospital by friends. No other information will be released about that victim at this time.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on Mr. Starkweather. The cause of death was listed as puncture wounds consistent with stabbing and the manner of death was listed as homicide, according to the autopsy report.
