Former Youth Football Coach Charged with Rape

             LEOMINSTERA former youth football coach will be arraigned Monday in Leominster District Court on charges he sexually assaulted a boy, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Benjamin B. Brause, 36, of 36 North Main St., Apt. 2, was arrested Friday night by Leominster Police after an investigation by Leominster Police and the District Attorney’s Office. He was charged with two counts of statutory rape and one count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

Mr. Brause coached youth football in Leominster in the 1990s to 2008 and in Lunenburg in 2009 and 2010. Anyone who wants to talk about their interaction with Brause during this time can call the Leominster Police Department at 978-534-4383.

He is being held on $100,000 bail. No other information on this case will be released at this time.
