Douglas Man Arraigned in Wife’s Death

February 13, 2012
UXBRIDGE — The death of Lisa A. Stilkey was “a tragic case of domestic violence,” Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. said today in a press conference at Uxbridge District Court.

Mrs. Stilkey, 44, was found outside the home she shared with her husband at 38 Gilboa St., Douglas, early Friday morning, having plunged from a second-floor window. She was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester where she was pronounced dead at 1:04 a.m.

Her husband, Allen M. Stilkey, 40, was arrested on Friday night on charges of manslaughter, assault and battery and threatening to commit a crime.

Judge Paul Losapio ordered Mr. Stilkey held without bail after his arraignment today in Uxbridge District Court. His case was continued to March 5. Assistant

District Attorney Brett Dillon is prosecuting the case.

Mr. Early said that while executing a search warrant at the Stilkey home, State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Douglas Police observed obvious signs of a struggle, including broken glass and broken furniture.

An autopsy on Mrs. Stilkey was conducted on Friday.

“Mrs. Stilkey had severe injuries to her torso, including many rib injuries,” Mr. Early said.

State Police Detectives and Douglas Police are continuing the investigation.
