WORCESTER — A Worcester Superior Court jury today found a 29-year-old Worcester man guilty of possession of a sawed-off shotgun and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Johnny Ball was arrested on Nov. 19, 2014 following a raid by Worcester Police at his apartment, 124 Southgate St., Apt. 2.
Police found more than $2,500 in cash, loose cocaine on a dinner plate, a digital scale, materials used to package drugs and the weapon in the apartment.
Judge Daniel Wrenn scheduled sentencing for next Thursday. Mr. Ball faces enhanced penalties if he is found guilty of being an armed career criminal, level 3.
“You can see in a case like this how the drug trade and weapons go hand-in-hand,” Mr. Early said. “I commend ADA Tim Westerman for his presentation of the case, Worcester Police for their investigation and successful raid and the jury for reaching a just verdict.”
