AUBURN – An autopsy will determine the cause and manner of death of a former Oxford man whose body was found yesterday morning in a wooded area just off the eastbound side of I-290 near the Worcester line, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
David T. LaRoche, 48, of 7 Oak Ridge Rd., Davenport, Fla., was found by relatives who had been looking for him. He was found at the bottom of a steep, 50-foot embankment among frozen trees and ice-covered brush. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner accepted the case and will perform an autopsy.
State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office were called to the scene – near the 2.4-mile marker of Interstate 290 – at 9:45 a.m. yesterday. Mr. LaRoche had exited a car in the breakdown lane of 290 late the night before.
State Police Detectives and the Auburn Police are continuing to investigate.
