WORCESTER – A Worcester County grand jury has indicted Glenn R. Armstrong for murder in the January death of his 83-year-old father in Blackstone, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

The indictment, which was handed up today, moves Mr. Armstrong’s case to Worcester Superior Court where he will be arraigned on June 20. He is also being charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.

Mr. Armstrong, 49, was arrested on Jan. 12 in Mount Laurel, N.J., one day after his father, Walter Armstrong, was found dead in the home they shared at 36 Summer St., Blackstone.

The defendant allegedly drove to New Jersey in his father’s truck, and was arrested there on a warrant after his vehicle ran out of gas.

A warrant for murder was issued for Mr. Armstrong by Uxbridge First Assistant Clerk Magistrate Nancy Zagaglia in February. Mr. Armstrong was returned to Massachusetts in March and was arraigned in Uxbridge District Court.
