BLACKSTONE – A 4-year-old boy, who had been pulled from from Lake Hiawatha shortly after 5 p.m. today, has died, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
The boy and his parents were visiting friends on St. Germaine Avenue. At some point the boy went missing and a search of the water and surrounding neighborhood began. About 20 minutes later, he was found in the lake. The boy was removed from the water and CPR was administered. Blackstone Police and emergency medical services arrived within minutes and continued CPR. The boy was taken to Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, R.I. where he was pronounced dead.
The State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and Blackstone Police are investigating.
