HOLDEN – The victim discovered after a Sunday afternoon fire in the home at 18 Farragut Way has been identified, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

The body of Raj V. Pathi, 63, who lived at that address, was discovered in the basement of the home by firefighters who were searching the building after controlling the fire. The body was removed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and was identified after examination.

Investigators believe the fire was started by Mr. Pathi. The circumstances surrounding the starting of the fire and the cause and manner of his death remain under investigation. State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, the Office State Fire Marshal and the Holden Fire and Police Departments are continuing to investigate.
